TYRES ARE WHAT WE DO:

…because we understand that it is your tyres that determine your performance, and it is your tyres that you are relying on to stay upright.

Choosing the correct tyre to suit your bike, riding style and level of experience is important. Take advantage of our experienced staff. They will help you make the right choice, and then expertly fit and electronically balance them for you.

We carry a huge range of tyres with most brands represented including Michelin, Bridgestone, Pirelli and Dunlop. We have most types in stock… road, race, motocross, trail, scooter and ATV tyres. All fitted while you wait, with three dedicated fitters to make sure you aren’t waiting for too long.

THE ROAD TYRE THAT IS RIGHT FOR YOU AND YOUR RIDE

It is essential with road tyres to stick to the manufacturers recommended tyre size, for a number of reasons:

  • a higher profile tyre will change the steering characteristics of your bike and upset how the bike handles and the tyre may rub on the mudguard
  • a wider tyre than recommended could lead to handling problems
  • an incorrect tyre may invalidate your insurance policy…

…and it’s important to choose a tyre designed for your bike and riding use:

  • A cruiser with the incorrect load rated tyre could experience handling problems, low mileage or a blow out
  • Race tyres are far too soft for the average street rider, as they are designed for extraordinary grip at the expense of low mileage. They’d be a lot of fun, but way too hard on the hip pocket.

There is no need to compromise with your choice of tyre. Take advantage of our staff, discuss how and where you ride, and choose the tyres that won’t disappoint.

There is a tyre perfect for you, and we’ll help you select it

TYRES FOR THE TRACK

With motocross tyres there is a little more lee-way with the profile and width of the tyre. Generally, if you forfeit 10mm on the profile, you can fit a tyre 10mm wider. However, a wider tyre is not necessarily better, and the recommended size is usually still the best fit.

The big consideration here is the tyre compound, determined by the track. Sandy tracks call for a soft compound tyre, while a hard tyre will be needed for rocky or clay conditions, and an intermediate for in-between.

Bring in your wheels, discuss with the staff where and how you are going to be riding, and get the right tyre fitted free of charge while you wait.
